Whatsapp Will Get Advertisements in Status Tab on iPhone

WhatsApp for iPhone might soon feature advertisements

There is some leaks and rumors are heard about " WhatsApp for iPhone might soon feature advertisements in the Status tab ". WhatsApp for iPhone and other iOS devices might soon get advertisements in the Status tab and this new development comes after WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton's controversial statements about Facebook.

If there is one company which has stayed away from monetisation and has still managed to become the most successful player in the industry, it has to be WhatsApp. It’s been years since WhatsApp is offering an ad-free platform to the masses through which they can connect with other people, share media and documents without a network barrier.

It is said that the prime reason why WhatsApp has become the most popular messaging app in the world is due to the fact that it is essentially free for every user and you don’t see any ads tampering with the user experience.
However, all this might soon change as a recent report has suggested that WhatsApp for iPhone and other iOS devices might soon start displaying advertisements in the Status tab. lex Stamos, Chief Security Officer at Facebook tweeted "...Eventually, WhatsApp is going to need to generate revenue... This could come from directly charging for the service, it could come from advertising, it could come from a WeChat like services play. This first is very hard across countries, the latter two are complicated by E2E."
